The principles of homeostasis maintenance for substances synthesized b
y a cell are being considered. This is examplified by the simplified s
ystem of biochemical reactions. This system includes typical biochemic
al metabolites, such as substrate, enzyme, product and inhibitor. The
influence of the rates of the most important reactions on the paramete
rs of the stable stationary state of the cell is shown. Possible ways
of transfer of the cell from one steady state into another are outline
d. Such transitions may happen under the influence of hormones, due to
the altering of constants of biochemical reaction rates and concentra
tion of metabolites, etc. A temporary influence of one of these factor
s may be enough for transition of the cell into another state. It is s
tabilized even after termination of the influence, if the change of ce
ll parameters (e.g. concentration of the product) is sufficient.
