Abstract
Hydrogenation of carboxylic acids to alcohols was effectively catalyze d by bimetallic systems consisting of Group 8 to 10 late transition-me tals, and Group 6 or 7 early transition-metal carbonyls. These catalys ts easily converted alpha,omega-dicarboxylic acid monoesters into omeg a-hydroxyalkanoic eaters in good yields.
