Abstract
Dimethyl 2,3-dialkyl-2,3-dichloro-butanedioates are efficiently prepar ed in dimethylformamide or dimethylsulphoxide, through reductive homo- coupling of methyl 2-bromo-2-chlorocarboxylates promoted by CuBr-Fe-0.
