Abstract
The signature of spiral arms has been recognized to leave imprints in the Al-26 source distribution as observed by COMPTEL. We have proposed a spiral arm model based on HII region observations plus the free ele ctron distribution, supplemented by an inner Galaxy component that ref lects the evidence for a central bar. We discuss some of the issues co ncerning this interpretation.
