THE INTERNATIONAL STANDARD FOR GRANULOCYTE-COLONY-STIMULATING FACTOR (G-CSF) - EVALUATION IN AN INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATIVE STUDY

Three ampouled preparations of granulocyte colony stimulating factor ( G-CSF) have been evaluated by 29 laboratories in 11 countries for thei r suitability to serve as international standards for these materials. The preparations were assayed in a wide range of in vitro bioassays a nd immunoassays. On the basis of results reported here with the agreem ent of the participants in the study and with the authorisation of the Expert Committee on Biological Standardization (ECBS) of the World He alth Organization (WHO) one of the preparations (88/502) was establish ed as the international standard for G-CSF.
