Induced radioactivity in space detectors was simulated by bombarding p
rotons of 1.2 GeV and 1.7 GeV on several CsI and CdTe crystals. Produc
t nuclides were measured and identified by gamma ray spectroscopy and
we have quantified the gamma-ray and 511 keV gamma-ray emissions from
the mainly identified isotopes, and the production yield of the long l
ived activation products.
