Abstract
In this paper a model and the interactive program system MECCANO2 for multiple criteria selection of optimal machining conditions in multipa ss turning is presented. Optimisation is done for the most important m achining conditions: cutting speed, feed and depth of cut, with respec t to combinations of the criteria, minimum unit production cost, minim um unit production time and minimum number of passes. The user can spe cify values of model parameters, criterion weights and desired tool li fe. MECCANO2 provides graphical presentation of results which makes it very suitable for application in an educational environment.
