Abstract
The performance of a nonlinear Fabry-Perot interferometer is presented , with the finite conductivity and the thickness of the metallic mirro rs taken into account. A novel nonlinear analysts is presented to comp ute the electromagnetic fields inside the interferometer based on a co ntinuous-wave condition and on a backward solution of nonlinear respon se of the interferometer structure. Numerical results are computed and presented. The practical use of this device as an enhanced optical fi lter is examined. (C) 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
