Abstract
Correlations between F-19 NMR chemical shifts (phi) in fluorohalohydro carbons and enthalpies of formation, bond dissociation energies, group contribution to enthalpies of formation and enthalpies of formation o f free radicals are presented. A good correlation between these proper ties has been found with the square root of phi. A relationship betwee n fluorine chemical shifts and group electronegativities is also discu ssed.
