Abstract
Research News: Monodisperse colloids have found a wide range of techno logical applications, in fields as diverse as ceramics, pigments, and catalysis. Recent work in analyzing the mechanism of formation of the particles is reviewed, and the factors influencing the size and shape of the colloids, such as the SiO2 particles shown in the Figure, are d iscussed.
