INITIAL FIELD ASSESSMENT OF METARHIZIUM FLAVOVIRIDE GAMS AND ROZSYPAL(DEUTEROMYCETINA, HYPHOMYCETES) FOR CONTROL OF CHORTOICETES TERMINIFERA (WALKER) (ORTHOPTERA, ACRIDIDAE)
Ghs. Hooper et al., INITIAL FIELD ASSESSMENT OF METARHIZIUM FLAVOVIRIDE GAMS AND ROZSYPAL(DEUTEROMYCETINA, HYPHOMYCETES) FOR CONTROL OF CHORTOICETES TERMINIFERA (WALKER) (ORTHOPTERA, ACRIDIDAE), Journal of the Australian Entomological Society, 34, 1995, pp. 83-84
An oil based formulation of an Australian isolate of Metarhizium flavo
viride was applied as an ultra low volume spray against nymphal bands
of Chortoicetes terminifera in spring 1993. Up to 41% of sprayed locus
ts, sampled 1 d after treatment, died from the disease when incubated
at 20-28 degrees C. Field observations 21 d after spraying showed that
the density of the treated nymphal bands was one-third that of the co
ntrols.
