Abstract
The genus Jacotia has been known from a single species, J. elegiae Fau re, described from Cape Province, South Africa. Three new species of t his genus are described from Australia: J. glyptus sp.n. from Canberra , J. idaeus sp.n. from eastern New South Wales and Queensland, and J. palmerae sp.n. from the south-western area of the Simpson Desert in So uth Australia, These are small, fungus-feeding species living at groun d level. Two species vibrate their anal tube vigorously when disturbed .
