DEVELOPMENT OF VACCINES AGAINST FALCIPARUM-MALARIA

Falciparum malaria is a leading cause of death in many countries. Drug resistance has emerged as a major cause for concern, increasing the p athogenic potential of the parasite. So far vaccines have been an elus ive option. We discuss here some of the antigens and vaccines that sho w promise and on which studies are in progress.
