Abstract
We report on photoinduced, intensity dependent absorption in 'blue' rh odium doped BaTiO3. The change in absorption, observed under illuminat ion by visible or infrared radiation, has successfully been modelled. Agreement obtained between theory and experiment indicates that the sh allow trap model can effectively characterise the intensity dependent behaviour at red and infrared wavelength, and can be used to calculate essential photorefractive parameters in this important wavelength ran ge for diode-laser applications.
