Abstract
We present experimental characterization of the dependence of the phot orefractive response on alternating field frequency in BSO. We report a frequency dependence which differs from theoretical predictions. The peak in the photorefractive response was observed at low frequencies of applied square wave ac electric fields. This low frequency behavior depended on illumination conditions, requiring full illumination of t he crystal aperture.
