Abstract
A promising new class of photorefractive devices using multiple quantu m well materials provide the largest index changes (Delta n similar to 0.06) and the lowest writing energy densities (1 mu J/cm(2)) of any p hotorefractive material. I will review our work on devices operating i n the 600 nm and 850 nm wavelengths and discuss some demonstrations of applications of these materials in information processing.
