Abstract
Clinical features, histopathology, pathogenesis and treatment methodol ogies for chronic superficial keratitis are presented. Chronic superfi cial keratitis is a chronic immune disease which cannot be cured but c an be controlled. All recent studies indicate that chronic superficial keratitis results from an endogenous susceptibility of certain dogs t o environmental factors through an immune-mediated phenomenon. lifelon g treatment is an absolute necessity to prevent the expression of this hypersusceptibility.
