Abstract
A new isotope Er-175 was synthesized for the first time by the Yb-176( n,2p)Er-175 reaction in irradiation of natural metal ytterbium targets with 14 MeV neutrons, The activities of Er-175 were observed by gamma (X) ray spectroscopy, Eight new gamma rays of 76.5, 120.9, 123.7, 128. 5, 227,3, 234.0, 281.4, and 1167.5 keV with half-life of 1.2 +/- 0.3 m in were found and assigned to the beta decay of Er-175, A partial deca y scheme of Er-175 was proposed.
