Abstract
Sweeping is a very important, powerful, and widespread method in geome tric modelling. In this paper, we consider only sweep surfaces, genera ted by sweeping one curve (cross-section) along the other curve (traje ctory), and their existing construction methods: the Frenet frame meth od, the discrete approach, the offset method, and the projection techn ique. All these methods are extended so that they now include non-homo geneous scaling and twisting of the cross-section, which enable the ge neration of complex twisted-profiled sweep surfaces.
