The paper analyses published data about the interconnections between p
arameters of forests such as the tracery of crowns and the spacing of
trees, and radiation within the field of view of remote sensing appara
tus. The models under development can be used to calculate correspondi
ng families of curves, giving a representation of the accuracy of solu
tions of the inverse problems of determination of the leaf/needle phyt
omass of forest vegetation from satellite multispectral measurements.
Examples of the studied interrelationships are given for deciduous and
coniferous vegetation.
