Abstract
The authors demonstrate for the first time the transmission of a 4 x 1 0 Gbit/s OTDM data sequence over two unrepeatered links of 100 km of n ondispersion shifted fibre. The experiment is enabled using midspan sp ectral inversion and electroabsorption modulator sources and demultipl exers, and results in a record bit-rate-distance product of 8.1 Tbit/s km for a single channel over standard fibre.
