Abstract
We studied optical spectra of directly synthesized trans-polyacetylene films. Reflection and resonance Raman spectra show that effective con jugation length distribution has longer average length and narrower wi dth than that of ordinary thermoisomerized films. Moreover, ESR spectr a show that directly synthesized films have fewer defects than ordinar y thermoisomerized films.
