The electrochemical characteristics of chemically dodecylbenzenesulfon
ic acid-doped polyaniline film (PAn-DBSA) were investigated in various
organic electrolyte solutions containing LiClO4 by cyclic voltammetry
and AC impedance spectroscopy. The PAn-DBSA film electrode showed ele
ctrochemical reversibility in the order of a mixture of propylene carb
onate (PC)/1,2-dimethoxyethane (DME, by 50 % vol), a mixture of PC/eth
ylene carbonate (EC, by 50 % mel.), and PC containing 1 M LiClO4. The
viscosity and dielectric constant of the solvents were responsible for
the different electrochemical reversibility. The electrochemical redo
x process was proved to change the microstructure of PAn-DBSA film fro
m partially crystalline to amorphous states.
