Recently the photoinduced infrared spectrum of neutral polyfuran was r
ecorded. The observed spectrum combined with the doping-induced infrar
ed and the FT-Raman spectrum of the neutral polymer, interpreted in te
rms of the effective conjugation coordinate theory, suggests that the
samples consist of a bimodal distribution of conjugation lengths. PFu
seems to be very stable in air at room T and shows the largest pi elec
tron delocalization among polyheteroaromatics.
