H. Sung et al., ELECTROACTIVE COUNTER ANIONS IN CONDUCTING POLYPYRROLE - HEXACYANOFERRATE AND HETEROPOLYTUNGSTATE IONS, Synthetic metals, 69(1-3), 1995, pp. 485-486
Conducting polypyrrole films containing hexacyanoferrate ions and hete
ropolytungstate ions wore studied for their electrochemical properties
. The polymers exhibited reversible redox properties inherent to the a
nions in addition to those of the polypyrrole moiety. The heteropolytu
ngstate ions were retained in the polymer matrix without being ion-exc
hanged after repeated potential cycles in aqueous or nonaqueous electr
olyte solutions containing no heteropoly anions. The charge compensati
on is effected by the transport of cations.
