Abstract
Poly(p-phenylene-1.3.4-oxadizole) (POD) shows two solid state modifica tions which can be distinguished by X-ray diffraction and IR-spectrosc opy. Molecular modelling reveals that the chain conformations of both forms are different. Aromatic poly(1,3,4-oxadiazole)s can be electroch emically doped by reduction reaction whereby radical anions are formed . The influence of the molecular aromatic structure on the reduction p otential is discussed in detail,
