Water increases electrical conductivity of polyaniline. A simple metho
d of the conductivity measurement for determining the diffusion coeffi
cient D of water in conducting polymer matrices is presented in this w
ork. The geometry of the conducting polymer samples can vary in wide r
ange and the initial water content can be totally arbitrary. With the
method based on the general theory D(H2O) in protonated polyaniline wa
s measured to be ca. 5x10(-10) cm(2)/s at room temperature which is in
a good accordance with the values measured with other methods.
