The conductive property of polymer is decided by Eg and BW, which are
concerned with its structrue, the effect of side groups, etc. has a la
rge effect on the Eg and BW. In this paper, by AM1 and EHMO/CO method,
the one-dimensional energy band structure of poly - para - phenyl and
a series of substituted polymer are calculated, we discuss the influe
nce of different kinds of substiuent group on poly - para - phenyl con
ductive property.
