Abstract
Out-of-class experiences associated with learning and personal develop ment were identified from interviews with college seniors. Respondents attributed a wide range of desirable outcomes (for example, critical thinking, relational and organizational skills) to life outside the cl assroom. Peer interactions and leadership responsibilities were among the most frequently mentioned antecedents of benefits.
