Abstract
The homoleptic tetramethylaluminates Ln(AlMe(4))(3) are formed by reac tion of excess AlMe(3) in hexane with Ln(NMe(2))(3)(LiCl)(3) obtained from LnCl(3) and LiNMe(2). Nd[(mu-Me)(2)AlMe(2)](3) was characterized by X-ray diffraction, but it was also found that this complex as well as its yttrium analog will cocrystallize with Al(2)Me(6) to form the i sostructural alkylaluminum inclusion systems {Ln[(mu-Me)(2)AlMe(2)](3) }(2)[Al(2)Me(6)].
