Abstract
Germylene and stannylene radical anions [(Me(3)Si)(2)CH](2)M(.-) (M = Ge, Si) have been generated and their ESR spectra recorded. The a(M) h yperfine coupling constants of both species clearly indicate a low deg ree of s-character associated with pi-radicals.
