Abstract
Nucleophilic addition to the (1-methylpentadienyl)Fe(CO)(2)PPh(3)(+) c ation proceeds predominantly at the substituted pentadienyl terminus t o afford (5-substituted-1,3-(Z)-hexadiene)Fe(CO)(2)PPh(3) products in very good yields. Decomplexation with Ce4+ generates the free ligand i n good yields.
