Abstract
Infrared (IR) spectroscopy was used to study the solid products of the thermochemical degradation reaction of poly(vinylidene chloride) foil s. Samples of foils heated al 200 degrees C in air and in the range of 300-650 degrees C in ammonia atmosphere. The degradation reaction pro duces new carbonaceous material with semiconducting properties.
