Abstract
Three advances in neutronic computational capability are described: (1 ) conception of ''equal system cost material effectiveness functions'' ; (2) derivation of nuclide inventory perturbation theory; and (3) dev elopment of multi-constraint optimization method. These advances provi de insightful information on the design; open possibilities for improv ing the effectiveness of fusion reactor design process; and may lead t o improved designs.
