Abstract
MBE grown Ho/Lu superlattices, investigated by vibrating sample magnet ometry, are found to have simple phase diagrams, with a helical phase analogous to that in bulk Ho, and a low temperature ferromagnet-like p hase. This is stabilised by the strain of the lattice mismatch between Ho and Lu.
