Abstract
The drastic changes in magnetic properties of amorphous PrNi5 as compa red with the paramagnetic crystalline analogue have been observed. Non linear magnetization curves and change of the sign of curvature in the Belov-Arrott plots give evidence of a ferromagnetic transition in the amorphous PrNi5. The experimental results are discussed in the framew ork of the phenomenological model of the crystalline field effects in amorphous PrNi5.
