Abstract
We present an experimental study of the tetragonal heavy-fermion mater ials CeT2Sn2 (T = Ni, Cu), CeNi2Sb2 and CeCu1.3Sb2. Their large low-te mperature specific heat partly results from a small crystalline electr ic field splitting, which decreases in the CeT(2)X(2) (X = Si, Ge, Sn, Sb) series with increasing size of the X-atom.
