Abstract
The effects of the crystal field (CF) splitting of rare earth atoms in intermetallic compounds on Arrott plots are investigated. It is shown that the combination of a local influence as determined by the CF spl itting and the magnetic interactions between the moments on different sites leads to curvature of the Arrott plots.
