Abstract
The calculated differential dc-susceptibility due to coherent rotation of magnetisation in Zn-bonded Sm2Fe17Nx magnets is compared with the experimentally determined ac-susceptibility. From this, a critical fie ld, H-cr, is derived as that where other demagnetizing processes becom e important. The observed dependence of H-cr on temperature and Zn-con tent show that H-cr is related to stray fields acting in the material.
