The iron-rich intermetallic compound NdFe12-xVx (x = 1-3) and its nitr
ides NdFe12-xVxNy have been investigated. For NdFe12-xVx, the Curie te
mperature T-C, the saturation magnetization M(s) and the anisotropy fi
eld B-A decrease with increasing V concentration. NdFe12-xVxNy has a T
-C of about 750 K, B-A of about 8 T and M(s) in the range 150-122 J T-
1 kg(-1) with x = 1.25-2.5.
