Abstract
Alloys of ErFe10.5-xCoxMo1.5 and NdFe10.5-xCoxMo1.5 have been studied with neutron and X-ray powder diffraction at 20, 120 and 300 K. The si te occupancy for each of the transition metals has been analyzed; Mo s hows a strong preference for the 8i site and Co for the 8j and 8f site s. The magnetic anisotropies have also been determined, they have been explained from the different site anisotropies of Fe and Co.
