Qf. Xiao et al., STRUCTURE AND MAGNETIC-PROPERTIES OF RAPIDLY QUENCHED SM-FE-TI ALLOYS, Journal of magnetism and magnetic materials, 144, 1995, pp. 1093-1094
In the study of rapidly quenched Sm-Fe-Ti alloys, it was found that cr
ystallites with metastable TDCu7-type structure were first formed duri
ng crystallization of the melt-spun ribbons. A transformation from Sm(
Fe,Ti)(7) with TbCu7 structure to SmFe11Ti having ThMn12 structure tak
es place at annealing temperature higher than 740 degrees C. The prese
nce of plenty of alpha-Fe and the imperfect transformation may impede
exploiting the potential coercivity of SmFe11Ti-based alloys.
