La and Pb NMR signals were observed in LaPb2 with a superconducting tr
ansition temperature of about 7 K. The width of the Pb NMR spectrum wi
th an asymmetric line shape was rather narrower than those of Er-, Gd-
and Ho-Pb-2. The spin-lattice relaxation time of Pb nuclei was twice
longer than that of Pb metal. La NMR spectrum had satellites due to th
e electric quadrupole interaction. These results show that each local
environment at La or Pb site in LaPb2 compound is uniquely determined,
compared with those in randomly substituted alloys.
