Abstract
Most of the U-intermetallics with the ThCr2Si2-type crystal structure exhibit magnetic ordering driven by the RKKY-type interactions. Some o f them show anomalous magnetic behaviour which can not be explained in the framework of the RKKY model only. Incorporating the hybridization effects to the crystal field potential and considering lattice imperf ections we show that such anomalies may be induced by an effective qua drupole-quadrupole interaction.
