M. Kuznietz et al., PARAMAGNETIC PROPERTIES OF THE (U1-XTBX)CO2GE2 SOLID-SOLUTIONS, Journal of magnetism and magnetic materials, 144, 1995, pp. 1405-1406
Polycrystalline (U1-xTbx)Co2Ge2 solid solutions have the ThCr2Si2-type
crystal structure acid order antiferromagnetically. AC-susceptibility
at 80-295 K yields paramagnetic Curie temperatures theta = -350 +/- 5
0, -15 +/- 5, -50 +/- 15, - 12 +/- 5, and - 80 +/- 5 K, and effective
magnetic moments mu(eff) = 4.5, 5.9, 7.3, 8.5, and 12.0 (+/- 0.5)mu(B)
, for samples with x = 0, 0.25, 0.50, 0.75 and 1, respectively. The hi
gh mu(eff) values are related to occurrence of paramagnetic moments on
U, Tb and Co, of which only U and Tb moments order magnetically.
