N. Cutler et al., EFFECTS OF TREATMENT WITH SIMVASTATIN AND PRAVASTATIN ON COGNITIVE FUNCTION IN PATIENTS WITH HYPERCHOLESTEROLEMIA, British journal of clinical pharmacology, 39(3), 1995, pp. 333-336
The effects of equi-efficacious doses of the cholesterol-lowering drug
s simvastatin (20 mg day(-1)) and pravastatin (40 mg day(-1)) on tests
of cognitive function were investigated in a double-blind, placebo-co
ntrolled, 2-period (4 weeks per period), incomplete block, crossover s
tudy of 36 patients (24 per treatment) with hypercholesterolaemia. Aft
er 4 weeks neither of the active treatments differed significantly fro
m placebo on any cognitive measure.
