Abstract
The phosphatase in gustatory epithelium of sheep circumvallate papilla e revealed site-specific histochemical localization of AKPase, ACPase and ATPase was mainly localized in taste bud cells. The presence of va rious phosphatases, esterases and oxidoreductases in superficial layer of moat indicated a physiologically active stratum comeum. Papillae-a ssociated glandular parenchyma also revealed strong activities of AKPa se, ATPase, SDH, LDH and NADPH.
