Adenomas, although the most common benign tumors in the middle ear, ar
e of low incidence. They may arise in a previously normal adult ear, c
ausing a conductive deafness and later an aural discharge. Histologic
definition may be difficult in these tumors, which are assumed to aris
e from middle ear epithelium. Fairly extensive surgery may be required
for their eradication. Two cases are described.
