Abstract
A new approach to detection in supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) by use of a continuous-now manifold including a flow-through sensor conn ected to the SFE collector is presented. The coupled system allows con tinuous derivatization and monitoring of extracted analytes and was us ed to develop a method for the determination of sulfo-quinoxaline in s olid foodstuffs. The proposed method features a linear determination r ange from 10 to 1000 ng of the analyte and an RSD smaller than 5%. It was applied to the analyses of spiked feedstuffs, lyophilized milk, cor n, wheat, and oats samples with excellent results in all instances (me an recovery and RSD of 95.3% and 7.5%, respectively).
