Abstract
The phenomenon of saturation of nonlinearity is studied via an investi gation of the nature and stability of the stationary states of rotatio nal polarons, which consist of quasiparticles interacting strongly wit h rotations such as those of rod-like molecules in liquid crystals. Th e basis is a generalized discrete nonlinear Schrodinger equation which has been introduced recently.
